At Afford Bond, we talk a lot about understanding and supporting our clients – getting under the skin of what they really want, and using our skills to help them make the numbers add up.

Well, we want growth and success too – so we also practice what we preach…

We make sure we clearly identify our short and long-term goals – and then put the building blocks in place to achieve them.

These are some of the steps we have taken recently:

  • Invested in our taxation specialism, with the appointment of our head of tax, Chris Regnauld as Director. Chris has a wealth of knowledge of Trusts & Estates, Income, Capital Gains, Corporation, and Inheritance Tax – and it is his ability to look across all of these aspects to tailor the best approach for each individual client which makes his advice so valuable.
  • Rewarded the hard work and talent of two of our associates with promotion to Director, a move that grows the senior teams at both of our offices. Ben Edwards is our man in Nantwich, although his reputation spans South Cheshire and Merseyside where he is particularly well known for his work with owner-managed SMEs. Meanwhile, Tom Hornbuckle, based in our Wilmslow office, currently works across a variety of industries (he has worked in-house for a FTSE250 organisation) and draws on a breadth of knowledge, including audit, accounts, corporate finance and financial due diligence.
  • Celebrated the success of one our trainees – Lauren Griffin – who has built her career with us over the last six years to become a qualified accountant: she has just passed her final Chartered Accountant (ACA) exams first time – which involved 12 separate exams.

As we continue to grow, we’re hoping to recruit more new talent this year – both qualified accountants who will bring an even greater depth of experience and expertise to our team, and at least one more trainee, so we can offer opportunities to people wanting to take their first steps in making accountancy their profession.
